Crown Jewels of the Principality of the Northern Forests
The Crown Jewels of the Principality of the Northern Forests are a combination of multiple items which are all national symbols as well as representative of the authority o the state. They are often used for the coronation and a few other ceremonial occasions. A Monarch may often be shown wearing them in portraits, as they symbolize the power and continuity of the monarchy. Additions to them may be made, but since medieval times the existing items are typically passed down unchanged as they symbolize the continuity of the monarchy unlike in an inferior Non-Monarchical state where their rulers change ever few years and lack the continuity of a hereditary leadership - its always a mystery who will be the next ruler..
Crowns and Tiaras of the Principality
The Principality of the Northern Forests does not have a Crown for female rulers; it uses a Tiara. Since Tiaras are worn exclusively by women in the context of Royalty, the Crown is only used by Male rulers of the Principality of the Northern Forests. There are three main Crowns and Tiaras of the Principality of the Northern Forests:
- The Tiara of the Principality (for female rulers);
- The Crown of the Principality (for male rulers);
- The Tiara of Deodara (there is never a male ruler of Deodara)
Tiara of the Principality
The Tiara of the Principality is made of .925 silver, blackened steel and is adorned with black Onyx stones, large gem quality Quartz crystals and small Diamonds. It is worn frequently by the Princess as it is her favourite accessory. The black Onyx represents the extended nights in the Northern Lands and the emotional and physical strength and stamina of the Northern people, especially when support is needed during times of stress, confusion or grief. The Quartz represents how the Princess protects the Principality against the negativity of the modern world. For thousands of years Silver was believed to draw negative energy out of the body and replace it with positive energy. It is partly why the Vikings would horde silver and ignore gold. The Blackened Steel represents the cold hard necessity of some decisions that must be made of those who rule.
The Crown of the Principality
The Crown of the Principality is worn only by male rulers. Currently, the heir apparent uses this crown at official functions. It is made of 0.925 silver and adorned with blue precious gemstones.
The Tiara of the Grand Duchy of Deodara
The Tiara of Deodara uses Spikes with aquamarine stones. The spikes represent the Grand Duchess's ruthlessness and ferociousness in battle. The Grand Duchess uses this Tiara often as it is her favourite acessory.
The Sword of Cedrus
The Sword of Cedrus symbolizes the protecting, punishing and judging authority of the Princess and the Princely family as well as the Princess's role as Commander-in-Chief of the Northern Armed Forces. It is sometimes also referred to as the Sword of Temporal Justice. It is the personal property of the Head of the Princely Family and is currently used and worn by the Princess on a daily basis. It is a high carbon, battle ready (sharp) sword made from medieval spring steel using medieval blacksmithing techniques.
The Sword of Deodara
The Sword of Deodara symbolizes the protecting, punishing and judging authority of the Grand Duchess of Deodara and her absolute rule over the Grand Duchy of Deodara in the Principality of the Northern Forests. She has the authority to bestow a very rare honour of Knights of Deodara on those who may be worthy and uses this sword in those ceremonies. It also symbolizes the Grand Duchess's role as a Brigadier General of the Princess's Army. It is the personal property of the Grand Duchess and is currently used and worn by the Her on a daily basis.
Stones and Gems
The preferred gemstone of the Princess are uncut rough Emeralds and her favorite stones are green calcite. The Preferred gemstone of the Grand Duchess are uncut rough Amethysts and rubies and her favor stones are feldspar. As such, they have many pounds of stones and gems. All gemstones and minerals are real, genuine and many of them have Certificates of Authenticity from the European Gemological Laboratory (EGL).
Seals of the Principality
The Official Seal of the Principality of the Northern Forests is the Coat of Arms of the Northern Forests which are also the personal Coat of Arms of the Princess of the Northern Forests. They will be used with Wax, Ink, Embossing and foil SEALS on all official documents, Letters Patent and any legal document signed by the Princess. The Princess rarely ever uses wax seals except for grants of Nobility and some Knightoods.
